Being physically active has numerous benefits and currently our local adult population is not active enough, with 21% of islanders reporting not undertaking 30 minutes or more of physical activity on at least one day in the past week in 2018 (Guernsey and Alderney Wellbeing Survey, 2018).

Workplaces can often be sedentary environments where people spend many hours, making them a key area to intervene to help more of the working age population to be active and meet the recommended guidelines. More active staff generates lots of benefits for both employees and employers.

WHAT WE OFFER?

Our free Be Active At Work service helps organisations to build physical activity into part of a normal working day. Following an initial consultation with the organisation and an employee questionnaire, we suggest an action plan for the organisation and provide them with a resource pack to help implement some of these recommended actions.

We are aware that each organisation is different, so we are very flexible with our service to adapt it to best suit the needs of the specific workplace we are supporting.

If you would like to engage with our Be Active At Work service, please contact our Adult Physical Activity officer, Sam Green, at sam.green@healthimprovement.gg
